Gender Spectrum is a Bay Area-based non-profit organization whose mission is to create more gender-sensitive and -inclusive environments for all people, including especially gender non-conforming and transgender youth. Gender Spectrum provides education, resources, and structured training sessions for families and institutions. Gender Spectrum's work has been covered by National Public Radio in All Things Considered's (Two Families Grapple with Sons' Gender Preferences ) piece and This American Life's (Somewhere Out There ) and featured on KQED's (Forum ). Since 2007 Gender Spectrum has sponsored a national annual conference, Gender Spectrum Family, for families with gender non-conforming, gender variant and transgender children, adolescents, and teens. The 4th Annual (Gender Spectrum Family Conference ) took place September 3–6, 2010 in Berkeley, California, USA. The documentary (I'm Just Anneke ) from Award-winning filmmaker (Jonathan Skurnik ) was screened at the 2010 conference. ==References==
